    Chemicals and Waste Management Programme

    The Special Programme, also known as the Chemicals and Waste Management Programme, provides support to developing countries and countries with economies in transition to enhance their sustainable institutional capacity to develop, adopt, monitor and enforce policy, legislation and regulation for effective frameworks for the implementation of the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM), Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions, and the Minamata Convention.

  • Quick Start Programme

    Quick Start Programme

    From 2006 until 2019 the Quick Start Programme supported 108 developing countries through 184 projects to produce and use chemicals in ways that minimise adverse impacts on the environment and human health. An amount of 47.6 million USD was mobilised through the fund. Projects addressed various aspects of chemicals management by different actors.
